So this Laguna Beach newborn session blog has been waaay over due! This session is back from December, but with the craziness of the holidays, and then life happening I am finally blogging it! This was probably one of the most stressful sessions, yet one of the most rewarding ones!! You see, baby ‘R’ was close to 8 weeks and we really couldn’t put this session off any longer. The day that was scheduled for his beach session was of course the day that it was RAINING! It was supposed to be perfect, but then chances of rain started increasing. We decided on a back up plan…maybe, but mom had her heart set on a beach session. We kept an eye on the weather, seriously I think every 10 minutes (or at least I did, lol) hoping and praying that somehow the rain would skip Laguna Beach and we would be able to go on as planned! Well not only did it not decrease in chance, but now we were talking lightning and thunder the morning of!! Yikes! I kept thinking that it was going to be nearly impossible to get a somewhat newborn baby to cooperate in a cold and rainy beach…not to mention the tide was also forecasted to be very high (sigh, big time). I kept thinking “it’s going to rain, and we have props, and my equipment is going to get wet, and the baby is going to be miserable and I’m going to absolutely fail this sweet couple.” The only glimmer of hope was that at the time of our session chances of rain was supposed to decrease significantly, but I mean seriously? How reliable can a forecast be…or so I thought…
During my drive to Laguna Beach I prayed and prayed and prayed some more that by some miracle God would stop the rain (did I mention it rained the whole way down there)? I kept imagining that God would open up the skies and all of sudden the rain would stop and the sun would come out beautifully. If you want to talk about prayers being answered on the spot…no Joke….true story! I got there and I’m not even kidding, the rain stopped and the sun came out! Although it was chilly and we kept baby ‘R’ bundled up, we had the absolute most beautiful lighting and skies. Baby ‘R’ did AMAZING! Oh and the cherry on top…his grandpa who was visiting from out of state came along with his santa suit and I was even able to capture some photos of baby ‘R’ with a very very special Santa for his first Christmas. How amazing is that?!!! One of the best sessions I have ever done! Here are some of my favorites! <3
