This Mizzou campus engagement session with Kaylie and Alex was such a memorable one! When I first met Kaylie and Alex it was over a video chat. They had just woken up as they’re both traveling nurses and work crazy hours! As we began our vide chat, they were sitting on their bed and right away I fell in love with them! Right off the bat, the kindest most easiest going people. Their smiles were sweet, their conversation so down to earth. I just knew they were going to be amazing to work with. We talked a little bit about their engagement session, their vision and what they were wanting! We ended our video chat and I just could not wait to meet them in person!
The day of our shoot was quite chilly! I think the temperature was somewhere in the low 40’s. However, the sun was shining and we were still able to get some beautiful fall colors with a gorgeous tree that seemed to be hanging on! You’d never know how chilly it was because they were such troopers and between the giggles and laughter, the cold was an after thought. We were accompanied by Kaylie’s sweet mom and aunt who were visiting them from California. They were such a joy to have around and be part of the process.
Some of the most fun sessions to photograph are those where it just feels so natural and that’s exactly how it felt with Alex and Kaylie. I felt like I had known them my whole life. Alex shared with me the amazing story of how he proposed to Kaylie on a hike and that the whole time he was petrified of losing the ring or dropping it from a cliff. I loved hearing their story! Their wedding isn’t until 2024, but in the meantime they’ll be traveling back and forth from California to St. Louis as traveling nurses. I’m so happy for this new exciting chapter in their lives.
Here are a few favorites from their engagement session at Mizzou campus.
