This Shelter Gardens proposal session Columbia Missouri was the absolute sweetest. When I received a call from Matt letting me know about his plans to propose to his girlfriend Sarah, I was so excited to meet and plan it out with him.

Matt and I met to scope out the location a few days prior to the planned proposal. Being new in town, Matt wasn’t sure of many locations in Columbia, but wanted to look around Shelter Gardens. The picturesque landscape was just perfect. The gardens were in full bloom and the beautiful vibrant colors of the many varieties of plants and flowers painted the perfect scene for Matt to pop the question.

The proposal day soon approached and everything went as planned. Matt made his way to the spot we had agreed on and there waiting for Sarah was a beautiful bouquet of red roses. As I hid behind the bushes nearby, I captured the moment when Matt got down on one knee and presented his now-fiancee with the most beautiful solitaire diamond ring.

It was as if time stood still. Unbeknownst to Sarah that I had been there the entire time, she gleefully said “YES!” I then had the pleasure and excitement of giving them a congratulatory hug and the joy of getting to spend the next hour with them documenting those first moments after Matt had proposed.

I’m sure Sarah was so excited, surprised and even in disbelief. Her sweet and kind spirit made it so fun to hang out with them and capture these exciting moments for them.

I truly am so thankful to share and document such exciting and momentous occasions in people’s lives.
