This Mizzou engagement session Columbia Mo are what dream sessions are made of! When I was first contacted by Larkin, I remember feeling so excited for her as they would be coming to spend the holidays in Columbia! She explained that she and Matt were originally from Missouri and had met while going to school and that they were both Mizzou alumni. She informed me that they were now living in Colorado, but would be back for the holidays and wanted their engagement to be documented where they met! How sweet!

The day of their shoot, we met at the Mizzou campus, we chatted for a few minutes and got into photo mode pretty quickly! I explained to them that the first 15 minutes were going to feel a little weird, perhaps awkward since neither one of them had had photos like this done before and it’s just not natural to be ‘lovey dovey’ in front of a strange whom you JUST met. They just laughed! Needless to say, I almost think that the pep talk or the “it’s ok to feel weird” conversation was probably not as needed. They quickly showed me just how much they enjoy being together and their love for one another.

This session was so much fun as we just laughed and talked! Not sure if they had had any expectations or reservations, but it certainly did not seem that way as they just went with the flow. They both made my job so much easier and so much more fun by being themselves and really just having with the whole process. After taking photos at the Mizzou campus we headed over to Capen Park where the fun continued! 

The ultimate result were these amazing photos that we were able to capture! They told me one of the reasons that they had decided on choosing me to document their engagement was how natural and genuine the images on my website looked. I was so honored and truly felt like we were able to capture just that for them! 

I had so much fun during their session and felt like we could keep going. Their laughter, their chemistry and energy was so contagious. I truly think we captured them as a couple!
